Its official! She is a MINI me

There is My little girl sporting her new glasses. And like her mommy she will probably always have to wear them. But she is so happy to have glasses (unlike me at her age).....(or mine)

But she just looks so darn cute with them. Also if you look in that picture is the teddy bear i knitted for her. I have fallen in love with knitting toys. They are so easy, fast, soft and cute i cant make enough of them. Im already started on one for bubby. We are all doing fine. The weather is amazing! Its 80 Deg. TODAY! So nice. It has been nice all weekend but with the kids taking turns running fevers we really couldnt go out and enjoy it. :( But Sis is better now. Just working with bub now.

We bought all our paint, rollers, tape, etc and even a ladder to get the house up to par. So Yeah me! i get to paint....And paint....and paint some more. Im so excited i cant control myself. But Debbie will be out here on Wed so atleast i will have company and help. But thats about it. I hope everyone has a great week!

My new Umphalump!

Lookie there isnt it cute? I messed up alot on this guy but it is so ugly and i am so proud of it. The pattern also tells you how to make a bear and a bunny and i cant wait to make both. I cant figure out what i want to knit next. I kinda what to knit the bear. but i also got me some sock yarn and im wanting to knit ME some socks so im on the search for a good easy pattern.
In other news... Abby went to an eye doctor appt and she has to wear glasses now. I reimber when i got my first pair I hated it!(Ha i still do) but she is so excited she looks so pretty in them. We pick them up tommorow so i get to post a picture soon. But thats just about it i just had to show off my Elephant. Now i just need a name for em' :)

I turned my first heel!

Yeap! there it is the heel to my first sock i was so happy at that point. Then I was chatting with my sister about how bad it would suck if my first pair of socks dont fit. Because see I was going to be selfish and make my first pair for me. Then she brought up the fact about my "Big Foot" feet. but i was like no way they are not that big...these socks WILL fit me. Well we hang up and i knit some more the whole time in the back of my head saying..."they are not going to fit" ...."they are going to fit"..."serously ..they are not going to fit".." They have to fit i followed the pattern" Well shortly after my conversation with myself i just had to know for sure.

yeap...there it is! My sock on my daughters foot!!!!!!!!!! I guess that will teach me to be selfish. As the depresion for not making a gauge swatch sets in..My daughters excitement for me making her a pair of socks gets bigger. She starts dancing around the house saying mommy is making me pretty socks. The whole time she is dancing im gritting my teeth wanting to throw a shoe at her lol. Because i know her excitement will have to tell dad the second he comes in the door that im making her socks. And without another word he will laugh cause "MY" socks dont fit "ME". Ahhh the joys of knitting when you hate math.

Wal Mart + Taxes = Bliss

Lol or temporarly anyway. Till ya come home and realize you have ALOT of things to put away. But still yet it makes me feel so blessed and greatful to know that i have stocked my house. Sorry about no posts for a while ...its been a bit crazy. My mind has been everywhere but where it should be. My heart goes out to my family. From Regina and Greg to Davy. And Marty's brother going to Iraq. I have never met your brother but boy do i ever know the feeling of saying good byes at departure time.

I have been so happy to know that my best friend just had her 2nd beautiful baby girl .. Alora. And her brother had an adorable baby boy yesterday. I wish i was closer so i could hold them both. But i do send my love. As for the new baby boy .. that has been my most resent knitting project.

Its a cute little carseat blanket. The picture is a couple days old and i have actually doubled my work since then but it gives ya the general idea. The pattern even has a hat to match so i am trying to knit like crazy to get it in the mail soon.

In other news... We leave today to go visit my Aunt Linda in VA. Well the visit isnt really all for her. Its to meet a new doctor that might be able to think of something for Brenden. He has already seen all three of Pediatic GI specilist in NC so after alot of convincing and days of waiting the insurance co said we can go to another state. Lucky for us the doc we found is really close to family. So keep your fingers crossed. Well if i dont post before V-day I wish everyone lots of love on Valentines Day!

How Cute!

My camera doesnt like to take picutes of yarn. So the shades of colors are a little off. But i wanted to try my hand at "kitting in the round" Yeah there are some mistakes...okay more than a few mistakes but hey. I think it turned out cute. It is made for my friends newborn so it should fit well as long as i get it in the mail before she out grows it lol.

And on another note most of my family woke up to a frozen tundra this morning after enduring 30+ hours of ice they are kinda stuck.

These are a few pics i borrowed from http://www.ky3.com/younews?cid=71571&pg=1 ( sorry i dont know how to do cool links. But I feel for all of you and your cold weather and hope i passes soon. But it makes me wanna ask " WHY do I wanna move back to Mo. for the winter?" Well i hope you all stay safe and the ones with electric keep it and the ones without it get it turned on soon.

And again ... on another note. Happy Birthday to my lovely sister! I know your frozen in your boots at work. But just reimber we are thinking of you. Have a great WARM Birthday. Love ya Sis

Another Quilt done!

I feel so accomplished! 2 Quilts in one week!!! Granted this was a real easy one. Some call it a sandwhich quilt, meaning the top is just one big peice of fabric, then the batting and the back. So a beautiful thoughtful gift that wasnt really that hard. But by going the easy way I sit now doubting if she will like it or not.I really hope so. Well both my quilts being finished I am trying to finish my knitted poncho. I am half done and with 14days left till Christmas I have been knitting like a mad women. I casted on the second half my project last night and im 30ish rows in already. So With any luck I can have another project finished soon. We are still up in the air about going home for Christmas but in the hopes we can I think im going to have the kids make something cute to give out as presents. So if you think of any simple ideas let me know :). Today is my offical start to the count down till Christmas so 14 days and counting .

My first Finished Knitting project!

Well there it is...My scarf. And a lovely model showing it :) Im so glad its done....Sorta now the bummer is i have to wait till payday for more yarn :(. But its all good i have a little left that im playing with to learn new stitches. And found this. I think it is called a cable stitch.
You cant see what i did very well cause i couldnt get a good picture. So i laied it on the book i got it from so you can see that one. In real life mine looked alot like it but just hard to tell cause the yarn.

New Hobby

Well this is what i started with it was going to make a large scaf but then i realized it was to large and no matter how hard i worked it seemed like i wasnt getting anywhere. so i started again.

So here i tried again. Made it thinner so when i worked on it i could actually see what i was getting done. Im doing a forward stitch and then a backwards one. (i dont know the whole Knitting language yet) and then about every 20 lines i do one backwards from what it should be giving it these cool looking lines for a pattern. So this is my new project. It seems so much cheaper than when i quilt. So im sure me and knitting are going to be a great match! :)
