Another Quilt done!

I feel so accomplished! 2 Quilts in one week!!! Granted this was a real easy one. Some call it a sandwhich quilt, meaning the top is just one big peice of fabric, then the batting and the back. So a beautiful thoughtful gift that wasnt really that hard. But by going the easy way I sit now doubting if she will like it or not.I really hope so. Well both my quilts being finished I am trying to finish my knitted poncho. I am half done and with 14days left till Christmas I have been knitting like a mad women. I casted on the second half my project last night and im 30ish rows in already. So With any luck I can have another project finished soon. We are still up in the air about going home for Christmas but in the hopes we can I think im going to have the kids make something cute to give out as presents. So if you think of any simple ideas let me know :). Today is my offical start to the count down till Christmas so 14 days and counting .

Hair do's

There is a blog i check alot http://babesinhairland.blogspot.com/ sorry i dont know how to make cool links. But anyway She does Awsome hair and I get alot of Sissy's hair Ideas from her. And She is doing this cool giveaway and like a 12 days of christmas thing. But besides the cool hair thingys she is giving away She is doing the prettest and simplist do's ives seen. Mine look nothing like hers but Sis likes them.

This was my try at her headband one. But it was not a good hair day for sis. She didnt want to get out of bed so the front pic has a very dirty look lol. But I think it turned out alright Idea is great and ill have to try it again.

I know, Mine doesnt look like hers but it turned out so cute. I had a problem of the first peices of each chain I made sliding to the end near the elastic making the Huge loops near the center. Im not sure what i did wrong but I couldnt be happier! This took me like 10mins to do! And looks so girly and classic like I curled her hair for an hour.
I just love this one! I'm sure this will end up being one of my favorite dos and from the way she is acting ...I think hers too. And im so glad because it is so quick to do.

One more finished!

This is my mom-in-Law's Christmas Present. I hope she likes it Now. I just have more projects to get done. I havent posted much about Sissy's hair lately but i still do it everyday and take pics just we havent done anything crazy lately. But ill try to do something for tommorow. I have cleaned and cleaned so my house is clean for the holidays which is great but now i have nothing to do. So i really dont have and excuss not to be finishing my projects so with any luck in a day or two I will have some more finished projects up. So which me luck :)

Christmas projects

I haven't been knitting much I can seem to only squeeze in an hour or so a day. And belive it or not that actually gets alot done. But Still....my poncho I am making isnt done like i had hoped. But its getting there. My camera is MIA but i do have a picture from 2 weeks ago.
It looks so pretty in person. And it has a nice stretch to it that is going to make is so comfortable to wear. I can only work on it when Shadow doesnt see me pull it out of my basket. I think he gets jelous. He always climbs in my lab and trys to get me to stop knitting....Kinda like this.

Isnt He Cute? I am also trying to get 2 baby blankets put together For 2 of my friends back home having babies. I think they might get them a little past due dates cause im trying to get christmas gifts done. One is a blanket for my Mom-in-Law( I hope she isnt reading)But its a quilt top I made for Last Birthday (in Jan)Then my Sewing Machine quit working and my new one isnt big enough to quilt it so im trying to Yarn quilt it. And when you have a pain-in-the-butt cat like mine it makes it complicated. I woke up like 3 times last night just to find him unrolling my yarn! I would pick it up and put it up then find him playing with again. Well Its Friday so i hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Christmas Time is HERE!!

My Christmas Tree this year. I just had to post to show how pretty. And If you look close at the bottom you can see the kids helped decorate it.(With 5 things per branch) But it is lovely and the kind of tree i always dreamed having as a kid. Havent blogged in a while my DH had the whole last week of Nov off. And the greatest Christmas news !!!! We might be able to visit Tenn. for Christmas!! A good friend of the family knows it has been like 3 years since we have been home. And she wants to give us Family for christmas. She is also the one who did it 3 years ago for christmas. Wow, 3 years since we have been in Tenn. Where does all the time go? But anyway now we just have to wait and see if Hubby can get a couple extra days off since his leave doesnt start till 10 am christmas eve. He is going to see if he can have it off so we get a head start and can wake up there christmas morn. Just the idea of it is the greatest gift we have had in three years. It excites us beond words. .....

Oh I also wanted to post about these.

I saw an artical about making snowglobes. I had to try. It was so simple I want to make more. The kids were so excited to make their own globes. Not to mention they turned out just down right cute!

Stupid Stupid people drive me NUTS!!!

Well yesterday I was going to post about how incompatant these workers are infront of my house. But as soon as I finished the post......They did it again!!!! Let me explain. See there are these workers and they are putting in a new sewage drain line that runs along with main road. Well thursday they cut my cable line. I called the cable co. just to find out when they came out the other company had actually cut they three other houses in the row also but they had coved the cut wire back up so TWC couldnt find the line. So I have 3 houses jumped off of my house. Well the fixed the wire on thurs night. Friday at 8am no sooner than they started the tractors they cut it agian! TWC came out and fixed it......At 12 they did it again! TWC came out to fix it when they were out here the other company actually cut the main wire that supplies cable to the Ct. I live on. So they fixed that. then at 6pm on Fri the stupid Co. actually cut the MAIN TWC wire...by main i mean the wire that suppies the entire area. Like 300 houses lost their cable and the other company called it quiting time and packed up and went home like they did nothing at all. These ppl are riddicualus! Well i went all weekend with cable then started typing my blog and ......You guessed it.......They cut my wire AGAIN!!!! this is #4 for anyone keeping count. And thats just my wire to my house not to mention everyone elses. Not to mention that on Friday when they went under my road. They didnt even leave a driving space. No one in and no out from my court. this also means NO mail NO access to emergency vehicals NOTHING from 9am- 5pm!!!

When ppl where coming in off work they were actuall driving through the neighbors driveway just to go through another neighbors front yard just to get in.Not to mention they cut like 4 feet into my yard! my nice lovely yard that was given to us as a welcome home gift for DH. Everyday I think this cant possiable be this bad...they just cant be this stupid...then 9am....they cut my wire! So it is 7:30 now so keep fingers crossed I can actually have my Cable today.

Loki & Shadow

My cat likes to play a game called "you cant get me" with my dog Loki. It is so funny cause they will do this for hours. If you open the door....Shadow will disapear with the blink of an eye.

Ever since I started Sewing you have always wanted me to make you a blanket. I made this on the begining of the summer for you, then mailed it to mom who just finished quilting today! So your gonna have to wait to get it in the mail. But that is a picture of it right before i mailed so i'm not sure what it looks like finished but im sure it looks great.

I was gonna be mean and post "the" picture. You know the one with Big hair and blue eye shadow. But i cant find it. So i Stole you pic off your site.

But thats you! One of the best sisters a baby sis could ever have. Not only are you Beautiful, creative, smart, and a great mom. You are a great insperation to me. No matter what comes your way you wont give up your dreams of being an RN. And I know you will be soon. So I want you to know that 30 shouldnt be scary for you because you have acomplished so much and there is only more great things to come! Have a great Birthday!

My newest Creation

Please dont mind the Model's crazy hair. LOL we just took braids down. And before My sis jumps and says i cheated....I will admit....I CHEATED. When i got to looking around at all the sweaters and blankets that i had that i could recycle the yarn for new projects i came across this.

My best friend's mom made this for sis when she was born. And she used it everyday for about two years then like most baby blankets it ended up on the top of the closet for 3 years. But I didnt want to take it apart because it was made just for her and my second mom had put so much time into it. When i was looking for my next project Sis saw a girl in a poncho and said she wanted one then i got an idea. But again felt way to guilty to chop such a beautiful baby blanket. So i called the maker of it ans she laughed and asked if i felt guilty when it was on the top of the closet. She agreed that it would make a great poncho and loved the idea that Sissy could get a couple more years out of the blanket she made. So i cut out the center square and made a hem. Ta-Da its done! And Sis loves it. Best of all ..... Its not sitting in the closet.

Try to catch up

Yeah i know! Everyone is really lucky lots of posts in the same day! Well DD has had a week off work so i havent blogged :( So just trying to play a little catch up. ... I was going to post my last finished project. I saw how to make scruncii's so I thought it would be fun to try one.

I made a strip and then sewn the edges together.

I folded in half around the hair tie sewing as i went. And this was my finished scuncii.

Twists and flips

This is Abby's hair today i think it looked cute and she loved it. I put it in piggies, then divided each piggie in 1/2. and made two twists out of each piggy. I only twisted them half way down. Then i tied both of them up to the base of the piggy and fliped what was left. And i know .... I wasnt going to be a mom that but bows in her hair everyday...But...It just looked to bare so i added two peices of ribbon and made her some bows.











after i took the picture i realized how weird the long strands looked so i took some bobbie pins and tucked them under and amazingly enough this do stayed up all day with little spray.

My first Finished Knitting project!

Well there it is...My scarf. And a lovely model showing it :) Im so glad its done....Sorta now the bummer is i have to wait till payday for more yarn :(. But its all good i have a little left that im playing with to learn new stitches. And found this. I think it is called a cable stitch.
You cant see what i did very well cause i couldnt get a good picture. So i laied it on the book i got it from so you can see that one. In real life mine looked alot like it but just hard to tell cause the yarn.

FRIDAY!!!!!!

Wow where did this week go? Abby told me since its friday all she wanted was a ponytail. Well ponies just seem way to simple anymore and when i gave her a ponytail she went and looked in the mirror and asked why it wasnt puffy and where was the ribbon LOL. So aparently they are getting to simple for her too. So I made it a messy bun and added a ribbon, she was happy. And me too cause it took like a min to do instead of 30.

here is the back. like i said simple simple. We normally do something crazier on fridays and do simple monday's but we'll just flip it around this week :) Have a great weekend everyone!

My Lovely kids!

My kids are great! Its so cute when i do Sissy's hair I have her stand to take a picture and Bub always wants to stand next to her.So this morning I got the pic of her hair then ended up with this one

They are going to be so happy to have each other when they are older they love each other so much! And are always looking out for each other. When Sis gets in trouble Bub will take her time out with just because she is sad. And when Bub doesnt get something he wants Sis will give him her favorite toy to cheer him up. I think im blessed with the GREATEST kids ever! Oh not to mention all my sisters have given me some wonderful Neices and Nephews (like 12 i think) everytime i get a picture of them it cheers me just like it does when i see my own kids they are all so great!

New Hobby

Well this is what i started with it was going to make a large scaf but then i realized it was to large and no matter how hard i worked it seemed like i wasnt getting anywhere. so i started again.

So here i tried again. Made it thinner so when i worked on it i could actually see what i was getting done. Im doing a forward stitch and then a backwards one. (i dont know the whole Knitting language yet) and then about every 20 lines i do one backwards from what it should be giving it these cool looking lines for a pattern. So this is my new project. It seems so much cheaper than when i quilt. So im sure me and knitting are going to be a great match! :)

Simple monday hair

I parted her hair in three sections and french braided each one and tied them off right at the end of the braid. then i braided all three ponies. realy simple took about 5 mins. She was happy cause that meant a little more Spongebob time before school. :)

Halloween costumes

Well since this blog is mostly about sissy's hair we will start with her. i undid her twists from that morning and messed up her hair a little more and it gave her hair a real cute ratted look for a witch.

Add here is my ninja! He is in his "10 sizes to big-modifide costume" but he loves it. He went treating last year but I think this is the first year he got the whole idea of it. After about 3 houses he was a pro. Dragging me and sis to everyhouse he saw with a light on LOL. It was cute everytime sis would start complaining about something (she is such a drama queen) he would SHHH her, and keep on going. They had alot fun this year i hope everyone else did to.

Happy Halloween!!!!

Witch hair! Sis is a witch for halloween so i wanted to give her s0me crazy hair. This is what we came up with. I think when she gets home we will mess it up a little more. I hate the fact that her sch00l doesnt celebrate Halloween. I understand that some ppl dont celebrate it but more ppl dont celebrate christmas than Halloween. But anyway back to hair. Sis woke up when Dad left this morning so since we had extra time we did this. Wow am i glad we had time. Im new to twisting and 20 twists took me 50 mins! Im so happy she was Wanting her hair done this way. otherwise im sure she wouldnt have sat still that long. but i think i turned out great! Happy Halloween to all those who read :)

Feild Trip Day

Well Abby's field trip is today and she is real excited so i wanted her hair to look cute. Well it looks cute everyday but i wanted to try something challenging. This is what i found.

I braided the first row in 5 braids and brought them back into piggies. Turned the piggies into messy buns and there ya go.Not to mention since it is field trip day i used a little more hairspray then normal.
And i know i was going to keep Halloween colors in her this week her class is the Red class so on trips she is suppose to have a lot of red on. so i made to little red bows out of some red fabric i had cut strips.

Halloween Hair

Well this whole week for school im going to try to put halloween colors in Sissy's hair. So When she has an orange bow with a pink shirt thats why lol. Then Friday im gonna try to do something crazy for her. But here is her hair today. Just a crown made with black and orange rubberbands. It looks really cute and she likes it.

Pumpkins

Well we carved our pumpkins this weekend they turned out great. The kids were not really that much help though. LOL. Neither one wanted to stick their hands in the pumpkin they "ewwwww"ed and "gross" the whole time me and Hubby took the yuck out .

Two days of hair

Here is Abby's hair yesterday Just two braids with a zig zag part And i fliped the ends it looked really cute. And held up all day! When she came home it looked exactly the same it was great. Dont mind the picture though im not sure why she looks so drowsy but we was rushing out the door to catch the bus. Oh, and there is a new kid in her class his name is Theo so now she is worried each day what he thinks.

Here is her hair today. Two rubber band braids then I took what was left and braided and fliped it into its self. It looked cute. The part is all kinds of crooked. But im not to worried about Kindergarten kids noticing the part :) Well thats it for today we are going to carve pumkins and ill have pics of them and costumes up soon.

Hair

My Kids My marine and me

My Kids...Abby and Brenden or better known as Bubby and Sis.

Yeap...thats them. Goofy as ever. Abby is 5 and full of ABBY-tude! She is a mess. Brenden is 3 he is our little guy. They are both Great kids :) mostly cause their mine and I have to say that. Sis currently has 3 boyfriends and one Best-boy friend as she says it. She is gonna worry me when she gets older. She is a smartbut and makes me speachless ALOT. Like when you tell your kids Clean your room and pick up your toys... her response is " mom how can i clean my room and not pick up my toys" So you have to be careful how you word things with her. Brenden is a very logical child. If its cold and you tell him to go outside. he generaly looks at you like your stupid. He is smart and knows if his room stays clean he doesnt have to clean it so he chooses to play in his sisters room. Like i said..i have GREAT kids lol.

And me and my marine. He is great too. He is where the kids get there logic from. He has lots of theroys that i dont understand but he is my marine and Love em'. And me a stay at home mom. I quilt and like to craft. And will randomly just fall out of my chair to make my kids laugh. They both have priceless giggles that i love to hear.
